DAILY
LIFE
School starts at The International School at 8:30am for Primary pupils and ends at
3:30pm. There is supervised homework time and after-care from 4:00pm
to 6:00pm from Monday to Thursday. This time is used for staff development
on Fridays.
Pre-school pupils may arrive at 8:30 am for Action songs and games. Their programme starts at 9:00am and ends at 5:00pm, with three breaks in between. Three-year-old Nursery pupils may attend half days if their
parents prefer.
There is a 15-minute break in the morning; an hour for lunch and
another 15-minute break in the afternoon. Pupils may bring their
own food and drink from home, but at an extra cost a catering firm
delivers lunch to
the school every day. Lunches that come from home are encouraged
to have proper nutritional value. A qualified nutritionist plans
every menu for the catering firm. Children who have the catered
lunch are provided with crockery and cutlery. If parents send food
from home they must also supply the appropriate equipment with which
to eat it. All children are expected to sit down, follow the
rules for table manners and converse in a proper manner.
In
our spacious, well-equipped, dynamic Crèche 2, Nursery and Pre-school the focus is on perceptual,
physical, and intellectual development. The criteria for choosing
our staff are qualifications, experience and love of children.
Nursery
children may attend half-days or full days for as many days in the
week as their parents prefer. Nursery and Pre-school children are
dismissed at 5:00pm and parents may fetch their children at that
time. If a Pre-school child has an older sibling at the school,
they may both be picked up after 3:30pm. The times are staggered in
order to alleviate traffic congestion.
All
pupils are insured against accidents.
